1998 – Attained the rank of Sandan (3rd degree Black Belt) in Shotokan

1994 – Attained the rank of Nidan (2nd degree Black Belt) in Shotokan & Ju Jitsu

1991 – Attained the rank of Shodan (1st degree Black Belt) in Shotokan & Ju Jitsu

1988 – Started training in Shotokan and Ju Jitsu with Master Leander (Bolo) Hardaway

1986 – Started training in Shotokan with Master Reno Morales

2007 – AAAI/ISMA Faculty – Authorized to teach Kickboxing Instructor Certification

2004 – Personal Consultant – Private instructor to beginners and experienced martial artists

2002 – Seminar Facilitator – Invited to schools, tournaments and events to give presentations

            emphasizing the connection between martial arts excellence and excellence in life

2001 – Founder of Natural Born Karate – Integrated self defense with self control, self 

            esteem, and self confidence (taught college students to balance school, work & stress)

1998 – Chief Instructor at Syracuse University – Taught Traditional Shotokan Karate (Forms

             and Self Defense) to students in the Syracuse University Shotokan Karate Club

1994 – Instructor at Heian Dojo – Taught Kumite and Self Defense to students of all levels

1990 – Junior Instructor at Heian Dojo – Basic techniques & Beginners Forms

 

Recent Competition Highlights

-          Current member of World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) Team USA, representing the United States in the WAKO World Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia

-          Currently a member of Full Element National Karate Team, actively competing and rated #1 in the Men’s Light-Heavyweight point fighting division and #2 in the Men’s Traditional Forms division on the North American Sport Karate Association world tournament circuit.

2006 & 2005 – Triple Cities Open Karate Classic (1st place Men’s HW Point Sparring, 1st place Japanese/Okinawan Traditional Forms & Overall Adult Forms Grand Champion)

2006, 2005 & 2003 – 10th, 12th and 13th Annual Upstate Open Karate Championships (1st Place Men’s Point Sparring & Overall Grand Champion)

2006 & 2004 – IFMA Championships (1st Place Men’s Sparring & Overall Grand Champion)

2005 – 4th Annual IFMA Finger Lakes Open Martial Arts Championship (1st Place Men’s HW Point Sparring & Overall Grand Champion)
